My photo is an example of a strong image that needs color because the paint going on the women adds dramatic quality to the photo. This photo shows the power of color through modeling. The women looks at such peace in this photo. i do not believe that this photo would have as much dramatic quality if it was not in color. the photographer is Iain Crawford.

This photo accurately represents the Chinese New Year Festival. According to a legend, every year a beast named Nian would come to the villages and eat all of the crops. They noticed that a little boy wearing yellow and red, had scared of the beast. Since that day, red and yellow have been the colors of the Chinese New Year festivals. This is a lively and joyful event, exhibiting bright and joyful colors. If this photograph had been taken in black and white, it wouldn't have the same impact it does as when it is in color. Also, it wouldn't represent the festival accurately.

The color in this image makes the lighthouse do what it was made for: attracting the eye. Even though there are many interesting colors in the photo the light house still attracts your eye the most. No matter what you look at your eye still just bounces back to the lighthouse. Just like a light house does in real life to passing by boaters.

Bird Caterpillar

In this image, the colors in these birds cause your eyes to think that this is a caterpillar. It is particularly interesting because the colors are the reason your eyes think that. If the colors were different, it would not achieve this purpose. This photo is incredible because all of the birds were in the right place to achieve that formation that causes your eyes to think that it's a caterpillar. This effect would not be created without these colors.

The concept of this image is the brightness of natural things. The orange and yellow moon pop out from the black sky. It shows how many people never notice the normal moon. The bright color of the moon makes people notice the beauty of the nature that happens every day.

This picture was taken in India where there is lots of pollution and noise, but this has people at a market buying things and looking happy. The color in this photograph shows how happy and friendly they can be even though they have lots of problem going on. The simplicity of their clothing is part of their culture and so is the colors. Color has a way of make the image feel happier ever thought they are in a small dirty street market. With out the color the picture would be boring you could not see their culture of how happy they really are.

Galen Rowell was a very well known nature photographer. In this photo, he captured the beauty of the clouds and the reflection of the mountain on the lake. If this image had no color or was black and white the viewer would not see the intense colors in the clouds and lake. The clouds have many different colors in them that are reflected on the lake. This photo shows a sunset in the Canadian Rockies and portrays natural beauty.

Chic Showroom By: Diposkan Marleen/ Chris Benz
Chris Benz takes the world of fashion, design and color and puts them all together to make fun fashion presentations. He invited Diposkan Marleen to come view his chic showroom and allowed him to take these pictures of it. Color reinforces the concept of making things flash out to peoples eyes so that they can see the more colorful and fashion part of this photo. The colors in this photo make it easy to see the entire image by taking you to the red horse then to the books underneath it and finally to the blue in the back of the room and the black bookshelf to the left side. This picture would not have the same effect or vibrancy without the many bright colors in it.

This is a photograph of women from the Chettri and Brahmin ethnical tribes during the annual Teej Festival. Here, all the women where red and green clothes with lots of jewelry and they worship their Lord Shiva through singing and dancing. This photograph is a good example of color because there are a variety of colors that move your eyes around the image and keeps you focused. Since there is little color in the background, all the different colors of the women's clothing stand out. The vibrant colors in the photograph show that this festival brings happiness and represents how the women celebrate.

Purple Crocuses by Stacy Gold
The purple color of the flowers in this picture makes the flowers pop. The flower petals have different shades of purple. The top of each petal is a dark purple and the bottom fades into a lighter purple. The orange in the middle of each flower also pops, there is emphasis on the middle of the flower because of the orange. I like how the colors of the flowers are bold.

Sunset and Night
By: Hougaard Malan
This photo was taken in South Africa. The photo looks like a body of water with a horizon, but it brings it all together when you have the sunset on one side and the darkness on the other to bring good color and contrast. Also, when the sunset meets the water it gives the picture a nice reflection. Malan said "his goal is to capture the moments when the elements of nature combine."

colorful hallway in the abandoned Annie Lytle School/Public School No.4 - Jacksonville, FL
I really, really love this image because it shows a great sense of mystery and a bit of unity, with having great colors at the same time. Everyday when I lived in Ortega, I would drive past School 4 never having a feeling of what is inside. This picture was the first one I have ever seen from the inside. I love everything in this image from the the purple on the right wall to the bright yellow in the ceiling and, even to a non-color extent, I liked how the floors were so torn up. When I saw this image I knew it was perfect.

Color Locks
The Beauty Insiders
The color in this photo is intense, and dramatic. Without the color it would not catch someone's eye or make them look at it longer. The colors are bright, bold and intense without the dramatic colors and it being black and white, compositionally, it may be a solid photo but it would hold no affect.
