Understanding Color Project Critiques
For my Understanding Color Project, I feel as though all of my photos have some strengths and weaknesses. I like my monochromatic image because I feel like it's abstract and really captures the idea and aspects of a monochromatic photo. There is good movement from the water and the sand keeps your eye moving throughout the image. Next, I feel like my red and cyan photo could be improved by not having so many other colors in the photo and using more symmetry by capturing the image straight on. I think that my green and magenta image is my weakest because there is nothing that stands out or keeps my attention through emphasis. I also feel like the photo looks rushed and isn't very good quality. I like my blue and yellow image because the two colors stand out and the reflection in the window keeps my attention. I think that my saturated photo is my most successful photo because the concept of color is brought out and there is variety throughout the vibrant colors, shapes, and sizes of the newspaper dispensers. I think my desaturated image needs to have less color and have a more obvious difference from my saturated photo. I think that my series represents the concept of color well but I need to work on cropping and really capturing the main point of the image and the concept of the series.
