Depth of field can add a sense of mystery to a photo. By having the background blurry it might make the viewer wonder whats it the background or whats behind the subject.
I agree with the previous comment and how depth of field adds mystery but also gives the picture a focus point. The focus point is important because it shows the viewer where to look (the focus point of the picture). It also shows the main idea of a picture with mystery for interpretation.
Depth of Field can add suspense to the picture. This effect will make the background blurry and the main object clear. It will make someone focus on the one object and wonder what is in the background.
I agree with Sarah. With shallow depth of field the blurry background makes the viewers eye focus on the subject clearing out any distractions that might be seen. As Sarah said previously, this adds suspense. With deep depth of field the viewer can see either the object and its surroundings or possibly just a setting such as the ocean or mountains. Also with deep depth of field a viewer can also see any point of views that might be in the photo.
I also agree that depth of field can add a sense of mystery, and I also believe it adds a dramatic effect. By focusing on that one object or person or whatever you're shooting, you are having whoever is looking at your picture focus on that object. The dramatization leads to what Taylor was saying about mystery. It makes the viewer wonder why that object is the focus, and is there a story to go along with it?
I agree with Taylor on how the depth of field adds mystery, but i also think it adds a sense of relaxation to the viewer. The girl in the photo looks as if she is trying to sleep. When a person is trying to sleep they try not to focus on what's going on around them. Similarly this photo is only focused on the girl relaxing, the shallow depth of field adds a sense of relaxation.
By changing the depth of field it can portray a odd and questioning photo. It focuses on the close object and blurs the back ground. the background blur can represent motion. It can make the observer wonder what is going on in the background go the image
A deep depth of field would make a picture more dramatic in that if your concept is something about being open minded or something to that degree than it would be effective for a deep depth of field. A shallow depth of field would, like Taylor said, create some mystery and definitely help to focus more specifically on one thing.
Depth of field can help emphasize specific areas of the image. When there is a shallow depth of field, the image's background is blurry. This can help emphasize color. Shallow depth of field can emphasize the clear part of the image. A deep depth of field will allow the viewer to see all items in the background. It can allow the entire image to be clear. Each depth can change the entire composition's meaning to people.
Deep depth of field can be really useful because when everything is in focus like Sarah Allen said it can addd suspense to the picture. Also, like the image above it makes the picture way more dramatic but it also brings your eye the main point.
I feel as though depth of field can add a dramatic effect to an image because the background is blurry. It makes the image more mysterious and makes you wonder what is in the background. This also makes your eyes go to the main focus point of the image because it is clearer and it makes the image more interesting and different.
Depth of field can affect the drama of an image because it allows there to be a main focus. For example, if an image has a blurred depth of field, there can be an object that is the main idea of the image. That main idea adds drama. In the image posted with this assignment, the girl is the main focus or idea. The focus on the girl, particularly her face, makes it interesting because she is showing emotion. If an image has a more clear depth of field, there is probably something interesting in the background, which adds drama and helps with the idea of the picture.
The depth of field allows the viewer to focus in on the image, and makes you think about what is significant about the image. When the background is blurred, it makes the viewer wonder what happened or where the person is. In this photo, the main focus point is important. The focus point is on the girl. While looking at her, the background is blurred. This makes the viewer wonder where she is, and what happened to her.
The change of the depth of field makes the photo more dramatic because it can make yo wonder what else can be seen that isn't in focus. in the image that was posted above there could be anything at the tree line but can distinguish because its not in focus.
The depth of field in an image draws your eye to a specific focus, so I believe that having a more shallow depth of field makes the image more dramatic because it is dramatically focusing on one thing.
The depth of field of a image can direct the viewer's focus to various aspects of the image. With an ill-focused background, the foreground of the image becomes considerably more apparent. This can create an intriguing vagueness to different portions of the image. With an out of focus foreground, the viewer is left with a curiosity about why the background is emphasized and what the foreground contains.
Depth of field adds a unique element to any photo. Shallow depth of field adds mystery because it only focuses on one thing making you wonder what is in the background like in the picture above. Deep depth of field is effective because it causes you to look all around the photo for every detail that might effect the point of the photo.
I agree with Chantz in the comment above. I think having a whole image and having only one point focused and clear emphasizes what the photographer was trying to show. if the photo above was focused on the girls feet, it wouldn't make much sense to shoot at that angle. But because they chose to have her head be the point of focus it makes you wonder what is important about her expression.
Depth of field can effect the dramatic effect by giving the viewer something to focus on. Especially with a blurry background, the subject of the image will stand out. This can be beneficial in understanding a photograph, such as the one shown. It makes people focus more on the girl's face. Also, the blurry background can tell a story without it being the focal point of the image.
the depth of field can emphasize certain parts of the photo that show emotion or feeling. In the photo presented here you can easily see the emotion on the girls face by the way that the focus point is on her face.
I agree with Taylor and that the blurred part of the picture adds mystery. The focused part of the picture also adds drama. It puts emphasis on that thing which makes it important in the picture and that makes you wonder why it is more important.
The depth of field gives the viewer a mysterious look on the photo. Because the background is blurry it gives a suspicious feel to what is going on in the photo. The only thing the viewer is able to understand is the subject of the photo.
Depth of field is one of the key aspects of photography. It is used by photographers to enhance the dramatic effect of the photographer is trying to convey. One could make a case that the dramatic quotient of an image is proportional to the depth expression.
I think that depth of field adds a cool effect to the picture because the main object is focused and the background looks eerie and mysterious. In the background, everything is blurred out so it makes the viewer curious about whats in the background.
Depth of field adds focus to the image. Depending on the depth, more or less focus is seen in the background. The ability to choose how much is in focus adds dramatic effect by concentrating focus to only what you want the viewer to see.
The depth of field can either add a large effect or little to no effect to the photo. The depth of field can either help you focus on the object more or make it easier to see a wide variety of everything that is in the photo. If you have a shallow depth of field the back ground will be blurred out, therefore making it easier to focus on the object that is in focus. If the depth of field is deep then the background is more focused, making it harder to focus on just the subject.
Depth of field can add a sense of mystery to a photo. By having the background blurry it might make the viewer wonder whats it the background or whats behind the subject.
