Self Assement

This week I took a few photos for my project. I also finished coming up with my ideas. My photos that i took i edited most of them. For my project i am taking photos to portray how everyday public, and publicity can affect teens and who they are. My ideas are: tan is considered beautiful, size, makeup influences girls to change their appearance, clothing style can change based on what is in "style", teens are prone to underage drink, and athletes are pressured to succeed; because of this they might take steroids. I feel i deserved a A this week because i worked diligently. I took photos, and have come up with all of my ideas.

This week I started shooting and editing my pictures, I also made all of my templates for my diptychs. My plan for my blog assignment is to make portraits of people doing good things while also portraying things that make people feel good. I have already shot 5 out of 12 of my photos over the weekend last weekend, because I don't have time to do it during the week. I think that my portraits, so far, are very successful and that I am doing well with portraying what I originally had in mind. My photos war far are also meeting the requirements of the project well also. I have not yet put my pictures into the diptych templates yet, but I plan to start doing that closer to the due date. I will also start resizing my photos fairly soon. I think that so far I at least deserve a B+ because of all of the progress that I have are so far and the progress that I intend to make.

My word for the portrait assignment is "national." For this project I am going to take candid and environmental portraits of people from different nationalities or ethnicities. The second picture in the diptych will be of either food from that same nation or a flag from that nation.

Class Time

This week even though I did not have pictures, I have done all my diptychs and I have an idea of what my pictures are going to be. My word is different, so I am thinking I am going to take pictures of people and things that are the same, but different. My grade for this week would be a C+

Self Evaluation

This week, I came to class with no photos to edit. I should have taken most of my photos last weekend in order to be prepared for this week and get my editing done. I spent my time this week planing out my portrait project photos instead. I decided on more details for my concept and made my original concept a lot better and decided what I want to take pictures of. I feel like I put forth good effort in making my concept better. This weekend, I am going to take mostly all of my photos so next week I can come to class prepared and I can work efficiently and get all of my editing done. Overall, I would give myself a B-.

This week I planned out my entire project. I came up with all of my ideas and who i want to model for them. My project is on the adjective important, I decided to use the perspective of a girl and a boy. I asked a few boys and a few girls, in their opinion, what is important to the opposite gender. These opinions are stereotypical and should reflect our society. Most of the ideas given from a girls perspective about boys are sports, image, popularity, surfing, girls, video game(more precisly Xbox). Most of the ideas given from boys about girls are appearance, hair, jewelry, shoes, boys, makeup, and clothes. As you can see all of these opinions are stereotypical. i plan to photograph all of these and show the differences between genders and the stereotypical opinions we all have for each other. Even though I didn't actually take any pictures I think I earned a B. I am going to shoot the majority of my photos over the long weekend. In my point of view, I could have taken pictures but they would have been hurried and not shown my ideas the way I want.

Self Evaluation

This week I was some what productive with my photos. I did take most of my photos this previous weekend. Out of class, I took photos of young people. In class, I downloaded most of my photos and edited them using photoshop. Next week, I'm planning to make my 6 dip tychs, and get a couple more environmental pictures. I am going to finish taking my pictures this upcoming week and weekend.

Self Evaluation

This week I was not very productive because it was a busy week. I should have been taking pictures but I didn't. In class, I did start on making the diptychs for the project. I do have some ideas for what I am going to take pictures of. My adjective is american, so I am planning on taking a candid or environmental picture of either people having a barbecue or of a person eating american food. I am also planning on taking a candid or environmental picture of my brother playing basketball since the sport is american. My grade for this week is a C-.

Self Evaluation

This week, I took photos, but I did not have the chance to edit them. I worked on my diptychs and planned what I was going to do. I feel like my participation in class was a B. I am going to do my project on what people are "able" to do. I am going to then take photos of objects that reinforce each idea of what jobs and hobbies people enjoy. I am going to edit all of my photos next week and hopefully finish the project by the nest weekend.

Evaluation

This week I took pictures for my idea of real.My idea was identifying that being yourself isn't bad. my pictures told a story. this story was a nerdy girl who has her own sense of style vs. the popular kids that don't show their real selves so they can be popular. This resulted in the nerdy girl winning at the end. In class i gathered these pictures together and planned each slide out on a piece of paper. The next day I spent the period making diptychs and did more planning. Overall I think i got a B this week.

Portrait Assignment Evaluation

This week I measured/made all my diptychs, which was good to finish. Also, I planned a little. I got permission from my friend to come to her house and shoot on the inter coastal as well as use her siblings and my other friends as models. She has a 3 year old sister and an about 5 month old brother, which both go with my them, little. Also, she lives in a big house, which I plan to utilize by emphasizing the little. I'm giving myself an 80% this week because I planned some, but I should've planned and shot. However, I did plan some, and getting my diptychs made will save me time later. Also, I had the idea of feeling little because of school work. I plan to try and get stacks of paper and shoot a person looking distressed. Another idea I had was feeling little economically. So an idea was that I could go to a fancy restaurant and take a candid picture of a waiter or waitress.

This week I took pictures but not many so I was not that productive. Yesterday I made all my diptychs so they will be ready to go. This weekend I will take all my pictures for the project because last night I wrote down my ideas so now i just have to take the pictures. This week I would give myself a C.

This week I planned out my ideas for my portrait project. I should have taken pictures this past weekend but I didn't.  I would give myself a B- or a C+.

My Grade this Week

This week, I set up all of my diptychs and my powerpoint. I have my idea and what I am going do for my project set up. My idea is to do my series on being high maintence and I am going to go to nail salons, hair salons, and Nordstrom to take pictures of my friend. I think that going to these places will make her look like she is high maintence. i would give myself a B.

I have not done much on my project.  I was sick this weekend so I couldn't go shoot and it is very hard to shoot during the week because of the fact that I get home and the sun is going down.  I have come up with some ideas though.  I would give myself a C-

My work progress this week

Instead of going straight out and taking photos I decided to plan out my photo ideas. I feel I should have taken some photos last weekend to be more prepared and more efficient for the week to come. If I were to be giving my self a grade I would give myself an B-

My Grade

In this week I have not worked on taking pictures the way I should have. But I have set up the powerpoint and the diptych templets. And I have been planning my idea which is have the person doing what makes the person feel old. Then take a picture of them in old people masks. I deserve a C on this the project this week.

For this week, I did not work as efficiently as I would have liked. I planned out my ideas this week. My idea is to take pictures of people on there phones, texting or calling. Then the opposite would be people being social without using social media. I would give myself a C for this week ob proficiency.

Well, for the first two days of the week, I was out sick. So, I didn't get much work done. During the one day I was here, I started to think of how I could use my trip to new york this weekend to my advantage and shoot there. I would give myself either a B+ or A-.

Weekly project evauluation

This week I came to class and I didn't have any photos ready. I could've and should've come in with a few so I had something to go off of and start to work with. Next time, I will come more prepared. But, this week I decided to change my idea for the portrait project and in class I planned it out and wrote on paper my plan for this weekend when I go to shoot. So, I would give myself about a C for my weekly evaluation in class. I could've come with more done but also ended up with a better idea than I did before and know what I will be doing when shooting and working on this project.

Project Grade (Week)

i definitely could have done more to get a head start on my portait project this week. I barely have any photos ready and will be forced to be do almost all of my shooting over the weekend. The only positive is that i have a good idea planned out and it shouldn't be too hard to execute. I will have an opportunity to travel to North Carolina, so i will have a nice place to shoot.

Self Evaluation

I believe that I should get an A or A-. I have shot all twelve of my photos, paired them together, and have finished 4 out of the 6 diptychs. I believe that I worked efficiently, but could have finished all of my diptychs if I tried.

I believe I should get an A- or B+. I shot most of my pictures and made one diptych but if I shot pictures in order according to each diptych, it would've been more efficient and I would've gotten more diptychs done.

I believe I should get about a B+ for the week because I had originally had a different idea which I had taken pictures for throughout parts of the week, but then I ended up getting a better idea and have not been able to take photos for this idea because I came up with the idea yesterday. So, I had put an effort forward with my previous idea, but that did not work because I changed my project idea to make my project have a better concept.

this week, i shot my photos on time, worked on them during class hours, and during lunch. i believe this will be one of my best projects. I'm shooting more this weekend. i would give myself a 97% because there is room for improvement but i believe i worked hard and I'm giving it all my attention.

I worked at a moderate pace this week.  Due to homecoming last weekend, i was not able to shoot as much as I needed, so I ended up shooting early this week and started editing by the end of the week. B+

Portrait Project

My word for the portrait project is "low."  For this project, I plan to take photographs of deep meanings of the word "low" like low points in peoples days or lives.  I will also take some of the photographs from a low perspective or low lighting.

Project idea

My adjective is social. For this I am going to take pictures of people being social online, such as social media. Also I could take a photo of someone talking and texting on their phone. Opposite of phones, I am going to take pictures of people talking and communicating to be social.

Project Idea

My word for my portrait is political. Instead of taking the route of using the literal meaning of political, I attempted to think outside of the box and come up with a creative beginning. While thinking, I came up with two ideas. For my first idea, I looked up alternate meanings of the word: political. I found one definition that I thought would be good for my project. The definition was: morals, beliefs, and values, that people are passionate about. I was going to do things such as family, friends love and religion and objects that represent that. My second idea were political positions found in your home, and common places.

Project Idea

For my project, I got the word right. I was thinking I could go on the streets and get pictures of right street signs for my candids. For my environmental photographs I was thinking I could set up people around me helping one another in a beneficial way because it's the right thing to do. I'm going to try different things with this word and see how creative and out of the box I can make my project.

My project idea

My adjective is high. I am planning to do my project about people trying to fit in to the high standards of their society. I will photograph a person trying to fit into their family traditions. The person will be a part of their family's family portrait but they will not fit in with the rest of their family. This shows the high standards and values of the family.

My word for the project is great. The idea I have for my project is to take pictures of things society believes are great and events society would consider great.

Small

When I think of small, the first thing I think of is small children, toddlers and such.  My portraits will be of toddlers and babies.  I'm still coming up with ideas on how to make a diptych.  One idea I have is to have adults wear similar outfits as the children and like compare the two.

The Best Project

1. I was thinking of photography very self confident people that believe they are the best at something and i would express that through one photo of the diptych. Then I would find another photo of an object or another person that they might compare themselves to. also, the object could be associated with the vibe you get from that person. i will try to use as much color as possible because best is a very positive adjective and i want people to see that.

2. another idea i have is to look for advertisements of the "best" places in jacksonville and photograph them. For one side of the diptych, I would show the advertisement and the other half would be the place itself. And maybe they false advertised. i want to show that sometimes what people say is the best isn't always the best. best seems to be a very overused adjective for businesses these days.

White

For my project, im going to use the diptych to make a compound word.  For example, since the word I was given is white, the picture on the left could be of something white, and the picture on the left could be someone's head. The two images combined would make the word 'whitehead'

For my portrait project I was given the word "only". I Intend to put together a set of evocative images that are fueled by among other things humor and irony.

"new" photo project

for my project I have the word "new". when I think of new things I think of new experiences and new environments. my project is going to be based on people doing, experiencing, and being in new places. I'm going to take candid photos of people doing things and then ask them if they have ever done that before(if it's new to them), hopefully it will be.

Ideas

The adjective i was assigned was black, so my idea for the project is to take photos of african american people. I will compare them to something i can't tell you because it is a surprise.

My adjective is old. Everybody feels old in their own way. I am going to take pictures of people doing things that they always do. Then I'm going to take pictures them in a mask on an old person. Or I'm going to take picture of a young person doing old things (elderly people activities). Then have an older person doing the some thing.

large

For my project I am doing the word large. I am going to explain by concept by using examples of things that are both physically large and symbolically large.

My word is big. Another definition for big is importance. Family is important to me so i will base my project off of this. I will shoot different types of family dinners such as a formal dinner, dysfunctional dinner, casual dinner, etc.

"national"

       My adjective is "national". For this project, I could find people from different cultures who are practicing their culture and take pictures of it. The other picture of the diptych to go with the different cultures could be symbolic of what they believe in that culture. For example, I could take a picture of an Indian family having some kind of Hinduism ceremony if that's what they believe in. With that, the other picture in the diptych could be a lotus flower. That is a symbol of purity in Hinduism cultures. Another idea was to use the first part of the National Anthem and put parts of it into pictures. Ex, "the bombs bursting in air" i could have a candid picture of someone dropping something and then it explodes like a soda can.

For this adjective,  I am going to take photos of new things, and young people. Some examples of this word would be like taking photos of younger people  dressing  up to look older.   Some new things that I might include will be the new house that is getting built right next door to my house. 

My Idea

My adjective is different, which means not the same as other; unlike in nature, form, or quality. So for this project, I am going to take peoples common daily routine and find things that are viewed differently from the people in today's society. For example, people walking backwards, people going on red lights, people putting on their clothes backwards, or reading a book upside down.

Portrait Project- American

For the adjective american, my first idea is to take pictures of different people participating in activities that are american. Some of my ideas for american activities are football, basketball, and cookouts/barbecues. I might take pictures of people or things that are american. I am also going to try to take pictures of people or things that represent american culture. I might take pictures of things that represent the different regions of America because America is very diverse.

Word Project Idea

For my project, my word is early. My idea is to take photos of scenes or objects that represent this word. I want to capture a moment in time that shows being early in any situation. I also want to capture the difference between what some people's idea of early is and what other peoples ideas are and what they normally do in the morning, or their morning routines.

Real

My word for this project is real. Out of the many ideas i had, i picked the idea of “the real you”. This means you should be yourself no matter what people say. People may judge you but the leader in the end always wins. By showing this in my work, I will be taking a series of pictures that tells a story. One girl is very smart, always studies , and has her own unique sense of style that the other girls make fun of. She always ignores them and at the end she ends up being the leader. I think my concept could teach other people to be yourself and  to stand up for yourself.

Portrait Project

My word is public. I want to use my word to convey to others how publicity affects the teenage population. Magazines, news, and everyone and everything around us affect us from a young age. Teenagers crave to fit into the popular crowd. I want to capture publicity causing teens to change their  values, looks, and interests to "fit in".

My word is important. In this project, my goal is to show the difference between girls and boys point of view. In other words, I am taking pictures that portray things important to girls vs. things that are important to boys. I believe this will be an interesting project because we all can relate to it and have our own opinions about the differences. I want to show the things that girls think about that boys think are silly and vise versa.

Word Project- Bad

My adjective for this project is Bad. I am going to take a pictures doing things that can lead to bad things. Such as taking picture of a red light, which then leads to a fine. Alcohol can lead to being drunk. I will also take pictures of expired food.

Good

The adjective for my project is good. I was thinking of doing either things in the world that are good and help people or make them feel good. I was also thinking of taking an opposite turn of things and taking pictures of things that are not good and make people feel bad. I feel like the more positive spin of helping people and making them feel good would be a more creative way of expressing the adjective that I was assigned.

Little

For my project, I am shooting with the concept 'little'. My idea is to shoot little things, such as a dog or a bell, along with people feeling little on the inside. I'm also going to try and either shoot littler things on little things, or emphasize it with something large. Such as going to a small city and shooting a person so little is not as obvious.

My idea for my project is to take pictures of words that contain the word sure. I intend to create a creative composition using the elements of design and color. I have a list of words that I will find in the real world and match them with with candid and environmental pictures.

my presentation is comparing long vs short showing the difference in length. It will show the advantages in similar items how longer things are more useful or how shorter things are more useful.
I will use a series of objects used for the same prepose that will covey the uses and why length is important.
